RAIN DROPS by Chibuzor Franklyn Ogamba.

So small you are,
but with your pinions,
you feed mighty oceans,
and conquer great lands,

You fall from above,
but we can't see your gates,
even when you come in drizzles,
we don't know from whence,

When sent from the heavy skies,
they become clear and bright,
the weather so cool and nice,
but the ground takes time to dry,

Your end is to purify,
your very essence gives life,
but your target on seeing you,
goes in to hide,

Are you then really harmful,
or being misunderstood,
for with you is life's food,
but enjoying you is nothing but doom,

Sometimes you are hard,
do they mean you are harsh,
other times you are soft,
are these your emotions,

Who are you really,
and how do you reason,
you come when not wanted,
but when needed are hunted,

From you i have learnt,
nothing good comes easy,
but when those good things come,
they go so easily,

O! thou nature's comforter,
will your children ever understand,
that you meant no harm,
when out of love you came down in summer,

Will they come out to welcome you,
as you knock on their rooftops,
and bang on their windows,
or will they stay in till you are tired,

Now i can say i really know,
without you would the oceans be,
and what life will survive,
when even without light you exist,

So know this i love you,
for you are the source of my being,
i'll make others love you,
but i still can't come out to meet you,
