Anambra poll: Be wise in your choice, Etiaba counsels voters.

A lawyer and former governorship aspirant in the 2010 governorship election in Anambra State, Emeka Etiaba, has urged Anambrarians to make wise and informed choice as the governorship campaigns for the November 16 election kicks off. He said the state has enough credible people that can direct its affairs, but expressed worry that “most times Anambrarians have had the misfortune of choosing wrongly, which most often, is based on emotion or religious leaning’’.
Speaking under the aegis of his Next Level Campaign Organisation, Etiaba, son of the state’s former Deputy Governor, Virgy Etiaba, insisted that ‘’one who should be the next governor of Anambra State must be a person who is sincere, large hearted, not given to religious politics and deceit’’
He noted further that such person must have enough clout to attract high quality persons for political appointments and not men and women who will forever thank the governor for giving them a life line by the appointment. According to him, “The next governor of the state must understand what good governance is about, humane, be ready to live and work from Awka, be able to transform Awka and, above all, have the capacity to drive the state’s Internally Generated Revenue to ensure increased earning’’.
Etiaba stated that now that the candidates of the parties have been unveiled, “the task of choosing the next governor would be easy as the man will so easily be chosen from the men’’. He called on the Ndi Anambra not to be carried away by rhetoric and empty promises, but to look at the antecedents of the man they would want to pilot the affair of the state.
