Dame Jonathan Urges Protection Of Youths Against Cybercrimes.

Wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Dame Patience Jonathan wants a stricter regulatory framework to be put in place in Nigeria’s cyber space to protect youths from falling victim of cyber-crimes. The first lady made this plea at a summit in Abuja organized by her office to expose the crimes and other problems associated with cyberspace in the country. The summit was also to create more awareness for Nigerian youths, on how to avoid pitfalls including hacking and financial fraud issues, which she hinted she will be following up on with so much vigour, owing to her recent appointment as youth champion by the international telecommunications union. She believes the draft bill to regulate Nigeria’s cyberspace is a first step, stressing that a lot more needs to be done to protect the youths.
