Mohammed Abacha Dumps Defunct CPC For PDP

The ruling PDP appears to still be winning supporters as Mohammed Abacha, son of the former military head of state, General Sani Abacha, has decamped from the defunct Congress For Progressive Change (CPC), to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), while efforts are still being made to resolve the internal crisis in the party. Mohammed Abacha, a staunch politician in Kano who in 2011 was denied the governorship ticket of the CPC after having won the primary of the party. Speaking at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja, Mohammed said he left the PDP due to lack of internal democracy but is now convinced his return to the party is the best move right now.
