Ekiti Varsity dismisses lecturers over sexual harassment, plagiarism.




The Governing Council of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has announced the dismissal of six lecturers from the university.
Deputy Registrar, Information, Mr. Ajibade Olubunmi, said this in a statement made available to our correspondent in Ado Ekiti on Sunday.
According to the statement, the affected dons were dismissed for offences ranging from plagiarism, manipulation of examination scores and sexual harassment to falsification of employment records.
The university was silent on the names and the departments of the lecturers.
It however, stated the identities of the students expelled and those rusticated for one session for examination malpractices.
The statement read, “The Governing Council of Ekiti State University has approved the dismissal of three senior academic staff of the university for alleged offences of manipulation of examination scores, plagiarism and failure to serve the university  after being sponsored abroad.
“Another three academic staff had their appointments terminated for gross academic misconduct, falsification of employment records and sexual harassment.”
