The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB has threatened to shut down the country if the Federal Government makes good its threat to prosecute Chief Ralph Uwazuruike with treasonable offence. Addressing journalists yesterday in Onitsha, the Regional Administrator, Onitsha North, Vincent Ilo, said the group though remained non violent, would have been pushed to the wall by the Federal Government. On the coming sit at home order, Ilo said the group had remained resolved in effecting the order on June 8 to pray and fast for liberation and emancipation of Ndigbo as well as remember the six Igbo indigenes murdered in Apo village in 2005. “As you are aware, six innocent Igbo traders were killed in Apo village, Abuja extra-judicially on June 8, 2005 by policemen led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Seven years after the murder of our kinsmen, the principal actor in the said murder is still walking the streets a free man.”“It is imperative that the International community should know our security challenges in Nigeria. It is on this premise that MASSOB requests Ndigbo all over the world to sit at home on Saturday June 8, to reflect on the continued massacre of our people in Nigeria” he said. The Regional Administrator further disclosed that over 20 members of MASSOB were arrested by security agents yesterday in Oyi Council Area, while having their normal meeting and called on President Goodluck Jonathan to order the unconditional release of their members.
He expressed dismay that the Federal Government was negotiating amnesty for Boko Haram members who were known killers, while it is planning a clampdown on non violent MASSOB. He said that such incursion by federal government could bring the entire country into chaos.

300 Level Law Student of Unilag Shot!

                                                                         Mr Ola Fowowe a 300 level Law student in the University of Lagos was shot on Friday the 12th of April around the Abule-Oja axis of Akoka. According to him at about 10:17 pm he saw a crowd of people running like mad men chasing nothing only to discover that it was the Police men conducting a raid. In a twinkle of an eye a Police man held him and he tried to explain that he was a student on his way to his house close by. The Policeman refused to listen and gave him a hot slap and another man from a group who were not dressed in Police uniform struck him with a cutlass and ordered him to lie down. He refused and he was marched towards some other people where they forcefully made him to lie down. Before he could say Jack Robinson he heard a deafening sound  very close to his ear only to discover that he had been shot on the right shoulder and blood started gushing profusely. Six million Albinos in Nigeria susceptible to Cancer.

Minister of Health: Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu With over six million Nigerians suffering from albinism along with its numerous challenges, the Albino Foundation Thursday commenced additional measures aimed at saving those with the condition  from cancer and other threats. As part of the measures, albinos were told Thursday at a conference to herald a one-week National Albinism Day celebration that they must be proactive to avoid anything that would endanger their lives. A speaker, Dr. Stella Chijioke, said in her presentation on “Healthy Living for Persons with Albinism” that albinos and other Nigerians  should also seek pre-marital counselling to avoid the proliferation of albinism. Noting that there was no cure for albinism, she said treatment was often given to ease symptoms.
