This young man Chigozie Nwofor was
on board the ill fated Young Shall Grow Smart Coach, that was involved in a
fatal carnage with a Dangote truck and fuel laden tanker along Benin-Shagamu
express way, last week Friday, which led to the loss of many lives. He was a graduate
of Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of
Technology Owerri (F.U.T.O). He worked with Diamond bank in Enugu and successfully
travelled for his sister’s wedding on Saturday 30th of March before
embarking on a trip to Lagos last week Wednesday for a job test. After the test,
he boarded the ill fated bus back to Enugu on Friday without any premonition of
the tragedy that was lurking ahead. He was a promising young child to his family
and the only son amongst four sisters as his father repeatedly exclaimed in
deep sorrow that he has lost his “sight”. May God grant his soul eternal rest
in his bosom. The Federal Road Safety Corps has to put in place more mechanisms to
prevent carnage on our highways and the government has not even shown interest
in this incident because the victims are not as affluent as the people on board
the ill fated Dana air crash of last year. May the soul of humble Chigozie and
others who were burnt to death rest in perfect peace.
