Eko disco assures on 20 hours power supply by December
Amoda gave the assurance at the conferment of his Africa Distinguished Gold Service Award by the Centre for Democratic Governance in Africa, CDGA as Honorary Distinguished Member. He said that all distribution companies had been mandated by the Federal Government that all cities across the country be supplied with at least 20-hour electricity starting from December. According to him, “we at Eko Distribution Company also want to key into the Federal Government’s instruction and ensure customers within our network enjoy 20-hour uninterrupted power supply by December. “We urge customers to support the Disco to achieve the projections, the present administration under President Goodluck Jonathan has improved the power sector tremendously to benefit the masses.”
Amoda stated that the sector had been in a comatose and neglected for over 20 years during the military era.Adding that it was under the civilian administration that the power sector began to within more improvement. He however, assured that all ongoing projects within the zone is geared towards improvedand effective service delivery when completed. He said that by December, there will be stability in the availability of electricity in the zone, adding that substantial progress is made by the Federal Government to ensure that the problem of power supply become settled. According to him, “the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), with the support of the federal government had concluded plans on a pricing which is fairly satisfactory to those who will make the gas available.” He stressed that availability of power supply in the country will also help to combat some of the challenges confronting industries the country, adding that economy of developed countries strives on sound infrastructure. The PHCN boss therefore urged workers to put in their best to upgrade the zone, adding that government position privatisation is that no workers will be sack. Amoda thanked the management of Centre for Democratic Governance in Africa for the “ Distinguished Gold Services Award”.According to Amoda, the award will be dedicated to all workers of Eko PHCN for their support and hard work; if not for them I will not be standing this morning to receive this award. “I promised to offer myself to more excellent and quality service delivery to my motherland and to the growth of the power sector,” Amoda promised. Dr. Dafe Akpocha, Director General, Centre for Democratic Governance in Africa, said that the essence of Amoda’s award was due to his immense contribution to selfless service; quality service delivery; and effective innovation. Akpocha said that the award is to appreciate both individual and companies who has distinguished themselves in effective service delivery to humanity. “The CEO has been inducted as Honorary Distinguished Member. We urge other companies executives to emulate Amoda for his excellent performance.
